Core Skills in Coaching & Mentoring for Advisors, Mentors and Teachers

Embed core coaching skills into your professional toolkit to accelerate and heighten your ability to connect clients, colleagues and students with their current performance and with their true potential.

For advisors, mentors and teachers, enabling others is already at the heart of their role. Led by our experienced coaching associates, this programme will introduce you to new ways of working, providing you with the essential coaching and mentoring skills and techniques for you to develop your work.

We believe that practice leads theory by a long way when it comes to learning to be a coach or mentor, so you will be working in small groups, working on real material, with a group of peers to learn from and supported by two coaches who will remain with you throughout your programme.

Accreditation Options at Foundation Level

Participants have the option to:

Receive a certificate of attendance from Guildhall Ignite.


Receive the Guildhall Certificate in Coaching & Mentoring, accredited by the EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) at Foundation Level.

To gain accreditation participants must submit a completed Learning Log. Your Learning Log will include:

  • A record of 50 hours of mentoring-coaching (including prior experience and post course experience)
  • Client notes on coaching-mentoring sessions
  • Reflective diary on your sessions
  • Reflective notes on the training seminars and coaching practice
  • 30-minute audio recording of a 1:1 mentoring-coaching with one of the people you have worked with (you will receive feedback on this from one of our trainers)
  • Feedback from two of the people you have worked with
